Triumph for Distinguished Gentlemen's Ride

A couple of weekends ago more than 11,000 motorcyclists from 250 countries around the world give a two-wheeled salute to prostate cancer. Raising more than $1.4 million for charity, the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR) showed just how generous and stylish motorcycling can be.
More than 700 motorcyclists attended the UK’s main event in Borough Market, London, which brought the city to a standstill as hundreds of riders on scramblers, café racers, classics and bobbers took to the road; all dressed in tweed, suits, bowties and sporting eccentric facial hair.
A global phenomenon sponsored by Triumph Motorcycles, the annual event saw riders support events across 13 cities in the UK; including York, Manchester, Sheffield, Oxford and Newcastle. Aiming to increase awareness of prostate cancer, each eccentric event raised much-needed funds to tackle the illness.
This year’s London ride-out was led by award-winning comedian and Triumph aficionado Rufus Hound, who took riders on a tour of the city for a day of camaraderie, fun and impeccable old school style. With over £85,000 raised for Prostate Cancer UK on the London ride alone, this year’s DGR has already been crowned a huge success; attracting more interest and raising more money than ever before.
