Triumph to launch national dealer apprenticeship scheme

This could well be the way forward – giving folks practical and useful skills which will help them to get good jobs and benefit the motorcycle industry to boot. The scheme is government funded so participants will earn money while they are training.
UK Triumph, is pledging its support to the future of the industry, by participating in the national dealer apprenticeship programme.
Hinckley-based Triumph is calling for budding technicians to apply for the scheme, which will see 12 apprentices – from dealerships across the country – undertake expert training with skilled motorcycle mechanics.

The course will run for three years and during that time each apprentice will spend around six weeks at Triumph’s purpose-built training workshops. The rest of their training will be hands on at their local dealerships. On completion of the course each participant will be fully ATA-accredited with a City & Guilds qualification in Motor Vehicle Engineering. The course gives young technicians a grounding in technology, enables them to diagnose and repair problems and become familiar with key financial management and legal principles.
