New BSA Bantam 350 Plus Watsonian Sidecar
A new take on an old idea – nice!

A great and popular new/old bike, the new BSA Bantam 350 arrived in town last summer, and just to make it even more popular, it is now offered with a Watsonian Squire SB1 Sidecar, if desired. This all adds to its nostalgic charm and versatility. Watsonian Squire are a famous UK company with a factory based in the Cotswolds, which makes sidecars for a variety of different motorcycle brands and models.
The BSA Bantam, with Watsonian SB1 Sidecar option, totals £8,995 (although the bike and sidecar have to be bought separately). Until now there has been no sidecar option for this bike, so this is a great new innovation which looks to become a popular choice.
The Sidecar is built at Watsonian Squire's UK factory, with a fibreglass body coated in a glossy black gelcoat. The shiny black surface, valanced mudguard and 10-inch steel wheels give it classic retro good looks, which are complementary to the vintage appearance of the BSA Bantam.
The sidecar sports integrated LED lights fitted to the mudguard and connected to the motorcycle's loom. There are also instructions so that the sidecar can be relatively simply attached and detached from the motorcycle, should the owner want either a sidecar-free ride, or to take a passenger alongside to share the fun.
Ben Matthews, the MD of Watsonian Squire, said:
“We have a great working relationship with BSA and it's rewarding to develop new products with British brands. The 29 bhp Bantam is more than capable of powering a lightweight sidecar and is the perfect introduction to 'a bit on the side' for novices”.
As you can see in this lovely photo from a Wemoto customer, although this is not the new Bantam Watsonian, there are many uses for a sidecar and many potential passengers eager for a ride.
